Day 2 of Computex — genuinely didn't know where to look.

The booths this year aren't exhibitions. They're art. But not the most spectacular art exhibition you've ever seen — they're the immediate future. Walking through the halls, I could clearly feel how hard the designers were working to make everyone feel this "future" — something beyond our understanding and imagination. I loved every second of it.

A few things that stayed with me:

1. Energy. AI needs power — a lot of it, and stable. Water resources were also on the agenda for major officials. Taiwan's security was discussed openly and directly: as capital flows in and Taiwan's semiconductor industry scales up, the people most concerned about Taiwan's safety aren't always Taiwanese. This isn't hyperbole. It's already fact.

2. AI getting physical. Compared to last year, AI physical applications were visibly present in over 80% of booths. Beyond the familiar robots, robotic arms, and robot dogs — what I cared about was the experience: tactile, spatial, imaginative. Screens are still 2D, but the digital is starting to break out of the screen — breaking frame, if you will.

3. Futurism + sustainability (my favourite). As someone who loves tech-art, I was thrilled by how 2026 presented futurism — completely different from the 60s aesthetic we used to associate with the future. This is something entirely new: digital flowers that breathe, gentle neon gradients that are easy on the eyes. We are creating something brand new.

4. Jensen Huang. He is now the hottest IP in global tech — signing queues, merch, crowd energy, memes. This is stan culture, full stop. But honestly, who can resist a tech nerd who's fluent in both English and Taiwanese?

Computex 第二天——真的不知道要看哪裡！

今年的攤位根本不是展覽，是藝術。但與其說是最精彩的美術展覽，不如說這即將是不遠的未來。走在展間，非常清楚感受到，設計師們很用力在讓大家感受這「未來」——那種 beyond our understanding and imagination 的感覺。我太喜歡了。

幾個讓我印象深刻的部分：

1. 能源。AI 需要大量、穩定的電力；水資源也是大官員們都有提到的關注焦點。臺灣的安全更是被開門見山地討論，畢竟隨著資金流入，臺灣半導體產業的規模越來越龐大，最關心臺灣安全的有時真的不一定是台灣人！這不是誇飾，已經是事實了。

2. AI 實體化。比起去年，今年清楚看到 AI 實體應用落地在 80% 以上的攤位。除了大家熟知的機器人、機械手臂、機器狗，我更關心的是體驗：觸覺、空間、想像。螢幕還是 2D，可是數位開始走出螢幕了（破格 if you will）。

3. 未來主義 + 永續（我的最愛）。作為科技藝術的推崇者，我太喜歡 2026 對於未來主義的呈現，這跟我們以前看到的 60 年代美感不同，是全新的樣貌——會呼吸的數位花、溫柔護眼的霓虹色階。我們正在創造全新的東西。

4. 黃仁勳！如今他就是全球科技界最火紅的 IP，簽名人潮、周邊商品、現場能量、迷因——這是追星無誤。但誰能不愛台語、英文流利的宅男！！！

I graduated from NCTU with a degree in Civil Engineering. Science track in high school — technically "STEM" — but "semiconductors" and "chip manufacturing" back in my university days were about as relevant to me as "RC structures" were to an electrical engineering student. Someone else's jargon.

Then around 2019, TSMC's stock started taking off. And by now, keeping up with Taiwan's semiconductor giants has started to feel like basic financial literacy. But even so, I don't think most people actually understand what "semiconductor technology," "advanced process nodes," or even "chips" really mean. I was one of those people. Until June 12th.

The 2026 New Taipei Science Day took place at Haishan Senior High School — 500 students and teachers, including upper elementary and middle schoolers from across New Taipei City, all gathered to experience what it means to be an "Atomic Architect."

Professor Teng Chin-Pei from Tamkang University designed the nano-gold experiment: silver is deposited onto nanoscale gold particles through a chemical process. Because of the unique plasma resonance effect at the nanoscale, the color change is visible to the naked eye — and through that, participants get a tangible feel for what Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) actually is.

ASM, the co-organizer, is the global market leader in ALD equipment. Dutch company, founded in 1968, 2,900+ patents. They don't make chips — they make the machines that make chips.

One elementary school student asked me: "Why does the color keep changing if we're adding the same ingredients each time?" I was so moved. Because of Professor Teng's experiment design, because of how the session unfolded, I watched children think — and find their own way into understanding something. There's nothing more valuable than that.

我是交通大學土木系畢業的，從高中就是個二類人，但「半導體」、「晶片製程」在我唸大學時，地位就像「RC結構」之於電機系學生——別人的術語。

大約2019年前後，台積電的股票開始飛漲，到了今年，半導體好像變成全民常識，但直至今日，大家好像依然沒有很明白這些技術到底是什麼意思。我也是其中之一——直到6月12日。

新北科學日在海山高中盛大登場，五百名師生體會「原子建築師」。淡江大學鄧金培教授設計的「奈米金實驗」，透過化學方法讓顏色產生肉眼可見的變化，進而體會「原子層沉積技術」（ALD）。

協辦廠商ASM是全球ALD設備的市場領導者。荷蘭公司，1968年成立，兩千九百多項專利。他們不做晶片，他們做做晶片的機器。

有一位國小生問我「為什麼都加同樣的原料，顏色會變得不同？」我好激動——因為鄧老師的實驗設計、因為我的帶領，我發現孩子們在思考、在用自己的方式理解知識。沒有什麼比這個更可貴的了。

I emceed the ESG Transformation Grand Opening of Yongli Group's Tainan Plant — held in Syuejia, Tainan. The event marked the asphalt industry leader's debut "Sustainable Aesthetic Demonstration Base," featuring a large-scale vertical green wall system and a commissioned mural by Taiwan-based Spanish artist GARE, in direct response to the UN SDGs Climate Action goals.

The ceremony was conducted bilingually in Mandarin and English, with simultaneous interpretation — bridging the Taiwanese executive team and international partners including Ammann Group President Hans-Christian Schneider. Government representatives spanning three ministries and three legislators were in attendance.

我在台南學甲主持了永䥶集團台南廠永續轉型開幕式——〈永續領航．䥶鍊未來〉。這是瀝青產業龍頭永䥶集團將旗下工廠轉型為「永續美學示範基地」的首站，現場導入垂直植生牆系統、邀請旅台西班牙藝術家GARE創作大型壁畫，以實際行動回應聯合國SDGs氣候行動目標。

活動以中英雙語進行並擔任同步口譯，現場出席包含環境部、經濟部次長、台南市副市長、三位立法委員，以及阿曼集團總裁。

Served as bilingual MC for two back-to-back diplomatic engagements: a formal county governance exchange meeting between Yunlin County and Vorpommern County, Germany, chaired by County Magistrate Chang Li-shan — and a VIP reception dinner that evening welcoming delegations from both Germany and Japan's Gunma Prefecture.

High-stakes diplomatic settings require more than translation — the tone, formality level, and cultural nuance of each message must arrive intact on the other side. I also assisted in guiding the media interview session and facilitating exchanges between all parties.

擔任雲林縣政府兩場外交活動的雙語主持人：上午為雲林縣長主持的德國巴歆縣政府縣政交流正式會議，下午則主持接待德國與日本群馬縣代表團的晚宴。

外交場合的口譯不只是語言轉換，每一句話的語氣、正式程度與文化細節，都必須完整傳達到對方。同時協助媒體聯訪引導與各方交流。
